Q: Can Huel be used as a nutrition supplement?
A: Huel is not designed specifically for weight gain, but it can certainly be a tool to increase caloric intake for those who require additional nutrition. Our Ready-to-drink bottles and Huel meal powders (Black Edition Powder, Huel Powder, Huel Essential) provide 400 calories per serving (2 scoops), with 20-40g of protein, depending on the product. Huel powders can be prepared as a shake simply by mixing water or milk, or can be combined with other foods such as being mixed into oatmeal or blended in a smoothie. Huel products are plant based and provide all the essential amino acids, so are especially useful for vegans.
Q: Is Huel appropriate for those with diabetes?
A: While this would depend on the patient's individual needs, we do offer a variety of products with different macronutrient splits. Our Black Edition Powder is designed to be reduced in carbohydrates and rich in protein, fiber, and fat, with a glycemic index score of 19, so this tends to be a popular option for those following a carbohydrate controlled diet.

However, as tolerance to FODMAPs can vary between individuals, it would be best to introduce these products slowly by starting with one scoop and increasing to a full serving, as tolerated.
