The Current Market

Many fizzy drinks on the market are high in sugar and provide little or no nutritional value. Huel Energy+ is different. We wanted to create a drink that not only tastes great but provides 27 key vitamins and minerals too: a comprehensive A-Z micronutrient profile that has been formulated by our in-house nutrition experts.

Huel Energy+ is lower in macronutrients and, consequently, lower in calories than other Huel products as it’s a vitamin and mineral sparkling drink that can be enjoyed at any time without contributing significantly to your calorie intake. We know this is an issue for fizzy drinks and wanted to do things a different way, the Huel way.

Caffeine

Caffeine is a compound that many of us love, but many of us consume too much. At Huel we listen to the science. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that 400mg of caffeine per day[2] is a safe amount.

A can of Huel Energy+ contains 200mg of caffeine, which is roughly the same as two average cups of coffee.

Vitamins

Huel Energy+ contains all 13 essential vitamins as part of a unique vitamin and mineral formula to provide, in some cases, more than 100% of the recommended daily amounts.

Since the US Daily Values (DVs) were first compiled several decades ago, numerous studies have demonstrated that, for many micronutrients, levels higher than the DVs may be beneficial for health.

For example, it’s widely considered that the amount of vitamin C we’re recommended to consume is too low[3][4][5], so each can of Huel Energy+ contains a high inclusion (100% RI) from both natural acerola cherries and ascorbic acid. The benefits of consuming more vitamin C include a healthy immune system, healthy skin, and antioxidant properties, and it also helps the absorption of some minerals like iron and zinc[6][7][8].

Each can of Huel Energy+ contains:

  • 100% of the DV for vitamin C for normal collagen formulation[9][10][11]

  • 100% of the DV for vitamins D2 + D3 supporting the function of immune cells[12]

  • 167% of the DV for biotin (vitamin B7) which supports healthy skin[13]

  • 120% of the DV for pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) which helps support metabolic functions[14],[15]

  • 100% of the DV for niacin (vitamin B3) which supports the body’s energy-generating processes[16],[17]

Minerals

Huel Energy+ also contains essential minerals. For example, each can contain:

  • 100% of the DV for selenium, which is known to provide antioxidant support

    [18].

  • 100% of the DV for iodine, which plays a critical role in healthy metabolic activity

    [19].

  • 20% of the DV for magnesium, which supports efficient energy production

    [20].

Huel Energy+ also contains 1039mg of electrolytes including potassium, chloride, magnesium, calcium, and phosphate which are crucial for regulating nerve and muscle function, as well as maintaining the body’s fluid balance[21][22].

Fiber

Huel Energy+ contains 4g of fiber per can. The source is chicory, a type of soluble fiber. This helps to ensure the formation of normal, solid stools in healthy users and provides fuel for the beneficial microorganisms that reside in our gut[23].

Summary

Huel Energy+ is a refreshing, vitamin- and mineral-rich, functional sparkling drink in a can that contains 27 vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It’s perfect any time to give your body a quick boost when you need it.
