Hueligan Spotlight: Meet Alex, Marketing Coordinator

"I am still a huge science nerd."

When you ask the people at Huel HQ why they love being a Hueligan (the affectionate name we’ve given to those that run the show) a few things always come up. People here are open and approachable, we all roll up our sleeves, challenge the norm and try to be better every day.

We want to give you an insight into these people who work at Huel, to find out more about them. We gave the office the challenge to think about what defines them and means the most to them in their lives – like travel, family, friends – and then articulate that with 4-5 objects.

What are your items and what do they mean to you?

1. The ring is my Texas A&M ring. Most people won't have any idea the significance of it but if you're from Texas, it's a big deal! Aggies who spot other Aggies wearing the ring will always approach each other and it's basically a unique way to network.
2. The picture in the frame is of my Siamese kitten Finley. Yes, you can follow her on Instagram at @finley_the_siamese.
3. The Harry Potter music box symbolizes my sadness of being a Muggle. I've read each HP book 16 times so far.
4. The colored pencils represent my artistic background.

Why did you choose to join Huel? 

When I moved to Los Angeles last year, I knew I wanted to find a company I was excited about. As soon as I discovered Huel, I knew that was it. I have a heavy fitness background, enjoyed that Huel was all about providing complete nutrition to others and I loved the idea of working for a company that was brand new to the USA. It was a perfect fit!

What is your job at Huel and what does it entail?

I work as a marketing coordinator with a focus on customer experience. I get to be sassy on social media and help our loyal Hueligans. :)

• What did you want to be when you grow up? I wanted to be a doctor! I even went to school for Biomedical Science my first year. I'm still a huge science nerd but quickly realized that blood and guts wasn't my thing so I switched to focusing on something completely opposite (computer animation).
• What are you currently watching on Netflix? The Haunting of Hill House. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it. Go. Run. Binge it ASAP.
• What app could you not live without on your phone? Reddit! It's my most used form of social media & it's how I stay updated with what's going on in the world.
