Huel Powder

Huel Powder v1.0

Huel was originally launched in the UK on June 17, 2015, however it didn’t launch in the US until June 15, 2017. The US formula is different from that of the European one due to different nutritional recommendations in those regions,  because of this we have a different version numbering system.

When we launched Huel Powder v1.0 in the US, we incorporated some of the improvements we had already made to the European versions. For example, we used a better form of calcium, we incorporated vitamin K2, we used natural L-methylfolate calcium instead of artificial folic acid, and more. Upon launch of Huel Powder v1.0, we launched Vanilla, and Unflavored & Unsweetened varieties at the same time, along with Gluten-free versions of each.

Huel Powder v1.1

Huel Powder v1.1 was launched on December 20, 2018. The main ingredients remained unchanged, but we made some important tweaks:

  1. Further improved omega-3:6 fatty acid ratio
  2. Started using natural D-alpha tocopherol acetate as our additional vitamin E source
  3. Changed to retinol acetate for vitamin A
  4. Increased vitamin B12 content
  5. Included plant-based vitamin D3

Huel Powder v3.0

Huel Powder v3.0 was launched on December 18, 2019. The main ingredients remained unchanged, but we made a number of nutritional improvements:

  1. All-natural and improved flavors
  2. Smoother texture
  3. Acerola Cherries for vitamin C
  4. Addition of kombucha
  5. Naturally-derived Choline, Biotin, and Chromium
  6. Globally aligned formula

On July 30, 2020 we added our Original flavor back into the range, with its natural, oaty taste. 

On 8th December 2020, three more flavors were added to our delicious v3.0 range in the US. Available in Huel Powder v3.0 and Huel Gluten-free v3.0, we introduced Caffè Latte, Salted Caramel and Banana.

Black Edition

Huel Black Edition was launched on December 23, 2019. It offers all the essential nutrients you would expect from Huel, with half the amount of carbs (only 17g) and over a third more protein (40g) than the core range. Black Edition comes in two flavors - Chocolate and Vanilla.

On August 26, 2020 we launched 2 additional flavors to the Black Edition range; Coffee Caramel, roasted coffee with a shot of caramel, and Unflavored & Unsweetened.

Since August, we have launched a further three delicious flavors in the US. Peanut Butter flavor, a natural, roasted peanut butter flavor, was launched on (29th October 2020). A further two flavors were launched on 29th December 2020; Salted Caramel, smooth (and sweet) caramel with a pinch of sea salt, and fresh and natural Banana flavour.

Our first version of Huel Black Edition was released as v1.0. The introduction of Huel Black Edition v1.1 is currently being introduced for all flavors across all US, UK & EU markets. This version changeover began in late 2020 and will continue into the early months of 2021.

On 5th May 2021, we launched a delicious new Black Edition flavor - sweet and fresh Strawberry Shortcake.

Huel Ready-to-drink

Huel Ready-to-drink v1.0

Due to continual requests since we launched Huel Powder to have a premixed version of Huel, we launched Huel Ready-to-drink on December 27, 2018 in Vanilla and Berry flavors. Each 500ml bottle contains 400kcal, and at least 20% of the Daily Values of all vitamins and minerals, as well as being high in protein, low in sugar and sodium, a source of fiber, and includes phytonutrients. We also paid careful consideration to our bottle and had our own unique design that is widely recyclable and made from 25% recycled plastic.

On July 9, 2019, we launched a rich and indulgent Chocolate flavor to our Huel Ready-to-drink collection.

On March 23rd 2021, we launched a fourth Ready-to-drink flavor - sweet and creamy Banana.

Huel Bars

On December 19, 2019, we finally brought our new and improved v3.1 Huel Bar to the US. The Bars included vegan chocolate chips, and came in a perfect snack-size of 200kcal, half the calories of a serving of Huel Powder or a bottle of Ready-to-drink. We launched with Chocolate and Salted Caramel flavors.

Then, on March 24, 2020, we released our Chocolate Orange, Coffee Caramel, and the brand new Peanut Butter flavored Bars.

On June 30, 2020, we added the delicious Raspberry and White Chocolate flavor to our Bar range.

Hot & Savory

On September 15, 2020 we launched our brand new Hot & Savory, our most delicious launch yet! Made with rice, quinoa, vegetables, herbs and spices, a balanced amount of good fats, high protein, and slow-release carbs.

There are 2 delicious flavors to choose from. Thai Green Curry, packed with succulent peppers, sweetcorn and scallions spiced with cilantro, cumin, ginger and a kick of chili, and Tomato and Herb, bursting with juicy red tomatoes with lentils, onion and green beans, flavored with garlic and sweet basil.

Since 15th September 2020, our Hot & Savory collection has grown, with the introduction of an additional four flavors. On 10th November, our third flavor Mexican Chili was launched, a smoky blend of peppers, beans, quinoa, and rice. Packed with all the fiery flavors of a chilli and ready in minutes.

Later in the year, on December 22nd 2020, our Hot & Savory collection doubled in size with the introduction of Sweet & Sour, Yellow Coconut Curry and Spicy Indian Curry.
